If you have been following the iiNet vs AFACT case, this latest press release may be of interest. iiNet have put into perspective the current situation in regards to how AFACT continues to defend its archaic accusations by using political channels rather than work with the internet industry in order to create a practical solution.
Clearly, AFACT are not part of the solution, instead appear only to hinder the process of developing mutually beneficial business relationships.
Prior to the Federal Court hearing, iiNet again sought to negotiate with AFACT on these matters, but they refused.
It is ironic that iiNets own digital TV product, Fetch TV, is an almost perfect solution to alleviate the issues prevalent with Internet File-sharing. On demand content is the future of media and AFACT is acting on behalf of those opposed to this ideal.
